Nature

Nature
How do you correspond so well in all of your different areas
How is your existence more of a poem
Then a Shakespearean tragedy
Even the murderous hunter pray game
Is a dance
The evil people ruin parts of your world
And yet you adapt
And continue the song of life
The same song that you have sang for hundreds of years

Nature
Give me your positivity and acceptance
Share with me the secret of your calm
Instead of hating the world--love it
Show me how you peacefully strive
Full of life
Full of understandings
From one generation to another
Your knowledge

Nature
I watch you
And feel blessed that I have witnessed your song
The movement of the trees
The songs of the birds
The heat of the sun
And the shine of the moon and stars
I find comfort in the knowledge that
You strive here
And will always do so

Love Is

Love is the pouring rain

Pelting down on a metal roof

The smell of spring

A smell you can’t escape

Love is the first snow storm of the season

Wrapping around you in an embrace

It’s the hot gorgeous sun

Warming you heart and soul

Love is the sound of a brook

Trickling down time worn waterfalls

The smile of the blooming cherry tree

Knowing that it bloomed just for you to see

Love is the narrow path through the woods

Twisting and turning, leading the way

It is a rock wall

Covered with moss and tempting the imagination

Love is the smoke rising off the water

Welcoming you at dawn

It is the sun setting

A reminder that you have lost another day

Love is the feeling you get when you find that one person

The one you can’t live without.

Love is

I Fall

I fall

Fall

Fall

Every time someone sweet comes along

You’d think I would learn from my falling

In that you’d be wrong

I try to lock my heart

Keep my excitement down to a minimum

Or gone all together

But I fail

Every time I land I manage to get up

Spackle in the cracks

Sand the exterior down to perfection

And go again

Keeping this unreasonable

Unreliable

Unreachable belief

That I might be loved again

Every ending is the same

Being repeated over and over

Like the song of a nightingale

And I again fall

Fall

Fall

Kaleidoscopic

I look up into the night sky
trying, reaching, struggling
I want to see my landmarks

The Moon, North Star, Orion's Belt

But tonight every star in the galaxy is spinning
spinning, shifting, swirling
changing places in rhythm with the seconds that time out our lives

As I stand there,
a willow swaying in the wind,
I wait and wonder why these three are so important

As I stand there the sun rises
with it's rise comes the disappearance of the stars and moon
in that moment I realize

The things we depend on
disappear with time
making them no longer necessarily
no longer landmarks that steer our lives

I look up into the sky and smile
I am free
The seconds that the stars danced upon are now mine

A Nighttime

I wake up
It was another magical nightmare
Real enough for the anxiety to overtake me
To spread through my conscious being

I wake up
I'm freezing with fear
Glancing every which way
Disoriented, afraid, in-tune
I role away from the window

I wake up
And you're right next to me
Peacefully breathing
Enough awake to sense a change in me
You put your arm over me

I wake up
I'm safe and unafraid
The warmth coming from you stops my shivers
I relax under the covers
I curl into you

I fall asleep
